2020 SYM VF3i

With the tagline “kapchai with the largest engine capacity in the world”, the 2020 SYM VF3i comes in new colours and graphics for next year. There are four colour choices for the 2020 VF3i – Blue, Red and Grey for the base version at RM8,338 and Gold for the special edition, priced at RM8,638.

Prices do not include road tax, insurance or registration while a two-year or 20,000 km warranty is offered. Besides the obvious, there are no changes to the VF3i which comes with a single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, DOHC mill displacing 183 cc. The VF3i puts out a claimed 17.7 hp at 8,500 rpm and 15.3 Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm.

Coupled to a six-speed transmission and wet clutch, power for the VF3i gets to the ground via chain final drive. Suspension is with telescopic forks in front while the back end is propped up with a preload-adjustable monoshock.

Braking on the VF3i is done with hydraulic discs front and rear – a 250 mm diameter disc in front and 200 mm disc at the back – mounted on 17-inch wheels shod in 90/80 and 120/80 tyres, front and rear respectively. Weight is claimed to be 128 kg and fuel is carried in a 7-litre tank under the seat.

According to SYM distributor for Malaysia, MForce Bike Holdings, the VF3i’s engine is Euro 3 compliant and from performance testing is capable of reaching a maximum speed of 155 km/h.
