Why don't you think about your neck where you can swallow, you really want to eat it..?
I have never looked at a pelican the same way after witnessing a pelican swim casually behind a duckling following its mother and swallow it whole.
It is not at all unusual for them to try to bite off more than they can chew!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
